Services were held at 2:00 p.m. June 30th in the Crawford Auditorum with A.L. Martin officiating. Under the direction of Scroggins Funeral Home. She moved to Oklahoma territory from Jacksboro, Texas in 1901. She was united in marriage to Rhett Jones on August 11, 1907 at Roll, Oklahoma and to this union eight children were born. Except for four years in Plainview, Texas, the couple lived their entire married life in Roger Mills County. Myrtle was united with the church at an early age, and she has been a lifelong member of the Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by one son, Ira, and by her husband, Rhett, a few years ago. Her surviving children are: Maye Cogburn, Avis Cobb and Hoover of Strong City, Fern Keahey of Crawford, Tom of Amarillo, Texas, Chester of Kress, Texas and Alice Shay of Lawton, Oklahoma. Other survivors include 14 grabdchildren, 17 great grandchildren and one brother, Otis Thompson of Cheyenne, Oklahoma. She was a kind and loving mother and with the passing of Myrtle we lost one of our early pioneers.
