The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net/ *********************************************************************** Obit for Robert Preston Kepley Services for Robert Preston Kepley, 102 year old retired farmer-rancher of 518 W. 7th, were held at 2:30 p.m. Satuday at the Revival Ceneter church with Rev. Albert Trent, pastor officiating. Born March 2, 1859, in Polk county, Missouri, Mr. Kepley died at his home Wednesday, October 18, 1961. He had been in ill health for the past 2 1/2 years, but seriously ill since July, this year. He was married to Elizabeth Williams in Polk county, Missouri in 1882. She preceded him in death January 20, 1908. Mr. Kepley was a charter member of the Odd Fellows lodge in Cheyenne. Mr. Kepley moved from Issouri to Texas in 1889, then in 1894 moved to Allen, Oklahoma, where he lived until moving to Roger Mills county where he homesteaded near Strong City. He lived there until moving to Elk City in 1960. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Myrtle Caffey, Strong City; a son, Henry S. Kepley, Elk City; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Alice Garrett, Elk City; a brother, A.P. Kepley, Clovis, California; five grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 11 great great grandchildren. Burial was in the Kiowa cemetery, south of Hammon, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma under direction of Marttin funeral home. Cheyenne Star, Cheyenne, OK
