He was born February 10, 1926, at Knox, Wisconsin, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Keto. As a young man Benti traveled all across the Northern States working as a lumberjack. He ran a sawmill for a while but due to asthma he had to change jobs. He resettled in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma in 1960 and changed his occupation to that of truck driving. Soon after his arrival in Oklahoma City he met Leota Blackketter and they were married November 12, 1962, in Stafford, Texas. This union blessed Benti with the inheritance of two daughters, Billie and Beva. Benti went to meat cutters school for a time but found his health would not allow him to work in the cold rooms. He then went to Electronic College and accepted a job with a goverment service as a contractor. He worked at Air Force bases all across the United States as well as Germany and England. He retired in 1980 and he and his family returned to Leedey and established their final home. Benti served his country as a Sgt. in the United States Army. He served in Korea and was honorably discharged on August 10, 1951. He was saved and baptized when he was forty years old. He was a dedicated Christian and aa member of the Baptist Church the rest of his life. His faith was a temstimony to many other of his love for his Savior. Those preceding Benti in death were his wife, Leota May Keto, his parents, Oscar and Hilma Keto, and a sister, Mary Keto. Survivors include his daughters, Billie Haney and husband, Roy, of Beeville, Texas and Beva Bostwick and husband, Dale, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; one brother, Ronald Keto of Tipoli, Wisconsin; two sisters, Lillie Kivela of Brantwood, Wisconsin and Jean Gilbert of Chicago, Illinois, 4 grandchildren, 7 great- grandchildren, eight great great grandchildren, 3 nieces, 6 nephews, other family and a host of friends. Services were held on Friday, January 30, 2004 in the Leedey First Baptist Church at 2:00 p.m. Interment followed in Evergreen Cemetery, Leedey, Dewey County, Oklahoma. Services were arranged and conducted by Shaw Funeral Home of Leedey, Oklahoma.
