Thursday, June 15, 2006, in the Monroe City Manor Care Center. She was born February 21, 1924 in Crawford, Oklahoma, the daughter of Jesse Aron and Lula Bell Brewer Blurton. She graduated from Crawford, Oklahoma Schools, worked as a nurse's aid and was a telephone operator in El Paso, Texas, for several years. Ruby came to Missouri in 1946. She was a homemaker on the family farm in Marion County where she raised her family near North River. She was a member of the Warren Christian Church and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Monroe City VFW. She was married to James Morriss Klein on March 5, 1946 in Sayre, Oklahoma. He survives at the Monroe City Care Center. Other survivors include three daughters, Brenda Lou Sparks and husband Larry, of Hannibal, Rebecca Sue Sparks and husband Mike, of Chesterfield, and Dena Rae Geisst and husband Scott of Jefferson City; six grandchildren, Stacy Nelson, Scott Sparks, Todd Sparks, Jamie Sparks, Molly Geist and Jeremy Geist, four great-grandchilddren, Brian, Keegan and Kamryn Sparks and Mollin Nelson; two sisters, Arlee Githens, Perryton, Texas and Norma Gean Barnett, Phoenix, Arizona; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Aron Blurton and Rolly Blurton; and by one sister, Opal Hensley. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, June 19, 2006 at the Garner Funeral Chapel in Monroe City. The Rev. Steve Goughnour will officiate. Burial will be at Andrew Chapel Cemetery in Marion County. Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, June 18, 2006 at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW in Monroe City, the Monroe City Manor, or the Arthritis Foundation. Casket bearersa will be Scott Sparks, Ray Nelson, Brian Sparks, Todd Sparks, Jamie Sparks and Jeremy Geist. Honorary casket bearers will be Stacy Nelson, Molly Geist, Collin Nelson, Keegan Sparks, and Kamryn Sparks.
