Kimberlin was born une 19, 1914 in Grimes, Oklahoma to Minnie Mae and J.C. York. She passed away June 26, 2003 in Sayre Memorial Hospital, Sayre, Oklahoma at the age of 89 years and 7 days. Sylvia attended school Pleasant Valley before graduating from New Liberty High School. She was married to Pleas Kimberlin at Sayre, Oklahoma on December 24, 1937 and they lived in Beckham and Roger Mills Counties. In 1950, they moved to Sayre to make their home. Sylvia worked at Peaches Variety Store before training as a nurse. She worked at hospitals in Sayre and Elk City and later was the Director at the Sayre Convalescent Center. She continued nursing for 20 years until her retirement in 1977. She was a member of Sayre Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 5 sisters and 1 brother. The family requests memorial donations be made to the Westview Boys Home, Tipton Children's Home or the Oklahoma Research Foundation. Services were held Monday, June 20, 2003 at 10:30 AM at Sayre Church of Christ, officiatede by Kevin Ballard. Burial was at the Berlin Cemetery, Berlin, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service. Survivors include: Several nephews and nieces, J.C. Spitzer and wife, Shirley of Sayre, Oklahoma, Ivan Spitzer and wife, Sue of Weatherford, Oklahoma; host of relatives and friends.
