He moved from Illinois to Texas and lived there for nine years. In 1893 he moved to Stephens county, Texas and later moved near Strong City, where he lived the remaining years of his life. His first marriage was Lavinna Hunt in 1885, at Buffalo Gap, Texas. To this union was born twins, who died in infancy. The mother also departed this life at the time in 1891, in New Mexico. In 1900 he was married to Rosie Colburn, and to this union was born one child Porter Kimzey. He was converted at an early age to the Church of Christ. His brothers had all preceded him in death. He leaves to mourn his going, a son, Porter Kimzey, a daughter-in-law, Hazel Kimzey, a grandson, Steele Kimzey, all of Strong City, a step-son, Jim Colburn, who is serving in the United States Army, stationed at Orlando, Florida, besides a host of friends. Interment was made in the Strong City cemetery, Strong City, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma with Wheeler Burial Association of Clinton in charge.
