Kent were conducted Saturdsay, April 28, 1951 at 2 p.m. in the Moorewood Baptist Church, with Rev. Joe Clark, Sentinel, officiating. Rev. Clark was assisted by Rev. W.L. Magar, Hammon ands Rev. John Chandler, Moorewood. Another service was conducted in the Highland Baptist church at Seminole, Sunday when Rev. Franks was the officiating minister. Interment was in Little cemetery near Seminole. Armond Russell Kent was born November 13, 1874 in Lawrence County, Alabama, and departed this life at his home in Hammon, Oklahoma, on April 26, 1951, at the age of 76 years 5 months and 13 days. On January 13, 1895, Mr. Kent was married to Betty Grissom in Lawrence County, Alabama, and to this union five children were born, Alice L. Cates, Shawnee, Oklahoma; Julia A. Caudle, Maud, Oklahoma; George Kent, Seminole, Oklahoma and Carlos Kent and William Kent, Hammon. Betty Grissom Kent departed this life December 20, 1908. On November 4, 1909, Mr. Kent was married to Mrs. Ophelia Hall in Mississippi, and to this union three children were born, Mrs. Eunice Sauls, Waterford, California; Clifford Kent, Bangs, Texas, and Alvin Kent, Hammon. Mrs. Ophelia Kent preceded him in death December 2, 1947. Mr. Kent was converted at an early age and was a member of the Missionary Baptist church, having been a deacon in this church for 55 years. His membership has been in the Moorewood Bapist church the past 21 years. He leaves to mourn his passing eight children, four step-daughters, Mrs. Zoie Bodkin, Mrs. Cora Pratt, Moorewood, Oklahoma; Mrs. Dewey Aylor, Seminole, Oklahoma, and Mrs. Etta Barfwell, Notrees, Texas; 28 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren; three sisters, Emaline Mayhall and Willie Stockton, Belmont, Miss Rebecca Gaylord, Byars, Oklahoma, and a number of other relatives and friends.
