Alton Kendall was born in Purdon, Texas January 7, 1904 and moved with his parents, Tom and Minnie Kendall, to Cheyenne, Oklahoma when he was a child, where he grew to manhood and married Robbie Turner in 1925. They moved to Carlsbad, New Mexico in 1944 where he went to work for International Minerals and Chemicals Corporation. He was a veteran of World War II, a member of the First Methodist Church, Carlsbad, New Mexico, a member of the Masonic Lodge No. 1343 A.F. and A.M., Cheyenne, Oklahoma, and a 32nd degree mason, of the Santa Fe Scottish Rite and Santa Fe Consistory, Santa Fe, New Mexico. Survivors include the widow, Robbie, Carlsbad, New Mexico, one daughter, Mrs. Sally Ridgway, Carlsbad, New Mexico, and one grandchildn, Lance David Ridgway, Carlsbad, New Mexico. Three nieces, Mrs. Wilburn Cunningham, Carlsbad, New Mexico, Mrs. Don Shelton, Guymon, Oklahoma, and Mrs. Martha holmes, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, two nephews, William D. Kendall, Lakwood, Colorado, and Tommy D. Owen, Dallas, Texas. One brother-in-law, Dean Owen, Carlsbqqad, New Mexico and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Doris Kendall, Cheyenne, Oklahoma.
