She passed away March 27, 2002 in Hensley Nursing Home, Sayre, Oklahoma at the age of 98 years 10 months and 12 days. Mae attended school at New Hope and married Walter Elemer Kiener at the Beckham County Courthouse, Sayre, Oklahoma on May 17, 1920. They lived north of Sayre to make their home. She was a charter member of the Berlin Saddle Club, and was active in the Berlin Quilting Club, the Berlin EHC, the Berlin United Methodist Church, UMW, Goodtime Kitchen Band, Eastern Star, AARP and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 1 son, J.B. Kiener, 4 brothers, 1 sister and 1 grandson, Karl Kiener. Services were held Monday April 1, 2002 at 10:30 a.m. at Rose Chapel with Marvin D. Nelson, officiating. Burial was held in the Sayre-Doxey cemetery, Sayre, Beckham County, Oklahoma under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral services. Survivors include: 3 daughter, Velma White of Houston, Texas, Betty Colvin of Ingram, Texas, Sue Burden and husband, J.J. of Edmond, Oklahoma; 2 sons, Dewitt Kiener and wife Kenlyn of Green Lake, WI; 14 grandchildren, Jimmy Kiener, Tom and Robert White, Lonnie, Joe and Johnny Kiener, Joe Colvin, Jewff, Brett, Mike and James Kiener, Kevin and Kyle Burden, and Kristie Fenton; 22 great grandchildren, host of relatives and friends.
