He was killed suddenly March 8, 1974 while returning home from school at O.S.U. Gary would have been 19 on the 19th of this month. He is survived by his parents, of Crawford, a brother Charles of the home, a sister Kathy, brother-in-law, Greg Dugger, and little niece Stacy of Elk City. In addition to his immediate family he is mourned by a great aunt, Mrs. Lula Cunningham at Clinton, Ida Belle White, husband and daughter Charles and Charlene of Dumas, Texas. Ida Belle made her home with the Keahey family for 16 years. Gary has numerous relatives and friends whom he loved and who loved him. Gary attended grade school through the 8th grade at Crawford and 4 years of high school at Cheyenne, graduating in the spring of 1973. He was outstanding in his 4-H Club work, played basketball and was honored repeatedly for his scholastic achievement and leadership ability. One of his interests at home was a promising herd of Registered Black Angus cattle. This was his major 4-H Club project and one in which he won many honors. Gary publicly professed his Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and was baptized at the age of 10 years. He was a member of the Crawford Baptist Church, as of January 2, 1966. Gary was an affectionate, loyal obedient son and his passing leaves a vacancy in the hearts of his family and friends that cannot be filled.
