Kiersey(sic) Katie B. Ackley Kiersey(sic) died May 12 in Yuba City, Calif. Funeral services are at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in Red Hill Cemetery. The remains will be viewed Saturday morning at Martin Funeral Home in Elk City. The Elk City Daily News, Thursday, May 14, 1987 pg 2 ========== Area Deaths Cathryn Keirsey Graveside services for Cathryn B. Keirsey will be held in the Red Hill Cemetery just north of Hammon Saturday, May 16, at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. Bart Montgomery officiating under the direction of Martin Funeral Home. Mrs. Keirsey, a former Hammon resident, died in California on May 12. Services were held in California and her remains will arrive in Elk City late Friday evening. Friends may view Saturday morning from 8-12 a.m. She was born near Hammon on June 28, 1908. She was married to Walker Ackley and he preceded her in death in 1944. She then married Thomas Keirsey and they made their home in California for many years. She worked in the Sunsweet fruit processing plant near Yuba City, Calif., for some 15 years before retiring. She is survived by her husband, Thomas, of the home; one son, Tommy Ackley of Olivehurst, Calif.; three(sic) daughters, Patsy Gomez of LaMarida, Calif., Nikki Castro of Yuba City, Calif., Marietta Cash* of Muskogee; two step children, Lovell Keirsey of Loma Rica, Calif., and Tony Keirsey of Olivehurst, Calif. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. *Note: Obituary is listing Marietta Cash as a daughter when she is an niece and daughter of her sister Emily.
