She passed away November 18, 2006 at Elk City, Oklahoma at the age of 72 years, 3 months and 15 days. Mary Lou attended school at Meridian and graduated from Sweetwater High School in 1952. She lived in New Mexico and Texas before moving to Sayre in 1989 to make her home. She was a member of the Sweetwater Assembly of God Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 infant brother and 2 sisters. Services were held Tuesday, November 21, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at the Rose Chapel officiated by J. M. Ashley. Burial was held at Mulberry Cemetery, Sweetwater, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Services, Sayre. She is survived by 1 son, Kent Dowdell of Waxahachie, TX; 1 sister, Clara Jo Coffey, of Amarillo, TX; 2 grandchildren, Josh and Caitlyn and a host of other relatives and friends.
