T. Kent, of near Berlin, died of strychnine poisoning as the result of eating poisoned meat which had been intended for dogs. Mr. Kent and his family had gone to the home of E. A. Isom to take dinner, and soon after the meal was over they heard a strange noise out on the porch. Going out they saw a dog, which belonged to Isom, fall in convulsions and die. On the porch lay a piece of meat which the dog had evidently, carried there. While they were watching the dog, they heard another noise behind them, and turning saw the child in convulsions, and it died before anything could be done for it. It is supposed that the baby ate some of the meat. On examining the meat it was found to have been cut open in several places and strychnine place in the cuts. On opening the dogs stomach part of the meat was found there, and the death of both child and dog was with every symptom of strychnine poisoning. Every effort will be made by the officers of Roger Mills county to find out who put out the poisoned meat. A boy living in the neighborhood has been arrested on suspicion.
