She spent most of her school days in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She will be remembered in that place by her teachers, schoolmates and many friends. It was a sad day to her when she said goodbye to all she loved so well. Coming here with her parents less than two years ago, but was greatly attached to the people and place after coming here. She began teaching school at the age of seventeen. She looked, forward to this work from childhood and once into the work, she threw her soul into it and was making rapid progress. While spending her vacation at home typhoid fever came into the home and claimed her as one of its victim. She survived the first attack but had a relapse and was sick almost six weeks before she passed away. She was converted during her sickness and shouted the praises of God. Her testimony was very clear in her short stay here, she had won many friends. She was laid to rest in the cemetery at this place. She leaves to mourn their loss a father and mother and three sisters with many sympathizing friends, besides a number of relatives and friends in Iowa. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Howe of the Baptist Church. A Friend.
