Libby, in the Shattuck hospital at Shattuck, Oklahoma, Thursday night, 11:30 p.m., March 3, 1932, from liver and stomach troubles, after over seven months of sickness, from last July. He was aged 50 years, 2 months, 9 days. J.J. as he was familiarly called, was born December 24, 1881, at Emory Gap, Roane County, Tennesse, and at the age of three years, his father and mother, Charles C. Libby and Mary O. Libby with his brothers and sisters, emigrated to Kansas remaining there ten years, when at the opening of the Cherokee Strip, his father homesteaded near Ringwood, Woods County, Oklahoma. In 1903, J.J. homesteaded on the quarter secion where he has lived about 28 years, a life of industry and usefulness, and with his faithful wife, Nellie, acquired two more quarter sections, free of debt. He married Nellie B. Steele, of Gem, Hemphill County, Texas, February 2, 1913. Besides his aged mother, he leaves the following brothers and sisters, Charles Y. Libby and Mrs. Flora J. Long of Reydon, Oklahoma, Mrs. Anna Moorehead, Aline, Oklahoma, Thomas R. Libby, James I. Libby, and Mrs. Mary Draper, Ringwood, Oklahoma, with his wife, nephews and nieces, to mourn his death. Burial was on Saturday, March 5, 1932 at 2:00 p.m. at Square Cedar Cemetery, near Cleo Springs, Oklahoma, McCordray Funeral Home, Helena, Oklahoma, prepared the body for burial and Rev. Daugherty, Pastor of the Ringwood Methodist Church preached the sermon. Cheyenne Star, Cheyenne, OK
