She had suffered several years from sugar diabetes. OnApril 14, 1943 she suffered a stroke of paralysis and was taken to a hospital in San Beradino, California, where at the time she was visiting her daughter, Mrs. Woodrow Shaw. All that loving hands could do was of no avail. She was later brought to the home of another daughter in Borger, Texas, where death came peacedfully to her. Ida S. Smith rode with her parents from the Panhandle of Texas on the famous Run, April 19, 1892 and settled with the family on Pie Flat where she lived her long life as one of the Empire Builders. At one time she became a member of the Seven Day Adventist church, and later expoused the Holiness faith. She was married to Thomas L. Lovett January 30, 1900. To this union seven children were born, all of whom are living and are here. Mrs. Thelma Shaw of San Bernado, California, Mrs. Bobbie Atkins of Borger, Texas, Earnest B. Lovett of Santa Paula, California, Roydie L. Lovett of Amarillo, Texas; Albert E. Lovett, Henry R. Lovett and Jess V. Lovett of Strong City, Oklahoma. Besides her children she leaves to mourn her death 10 grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs Euniced Pabello of Los Angeles and Mrs. Delia Anderson of Des Moins, Iowa. Three brothers, Tom Smith of Fresno, California, Ed Smith of Clayton, New Mexico, and Henry Smith of Springer, New Mexico. A number of nieces and nephews and many friends. Her husband preceded her in death, having passed on about seven years ago. She was a kind moither, loving wife and a friend to all who knew her. Funeral services were held on Sunday at Silent Home cemetery with Rev. Horace Woodward, pastor of the Reydon Baptist church assisted by Rev. Veach of Roll. The Tunnard Funeral Hoime of Cheyenned was in charge of the burial.
