She was 71 years and one half years of age at the time of her passing. Ruth Ann's parents were devoted to one another and their children. Her father, Wes, was a depot agent and telegrapher for the MKT Railroad. Her mother, Ruth, was a wonderful homemaker, friend, and confidant to her daughter. Boith parents provided loving council and friendship to Ruth Ann throughout their lilves. Ruth attended grade school at Fort Supply, Oklahoma and completed her high school education at Leedey, Oklahoma where she graduated with the Senior Class of 1951. She attende college at Oklahoma State University from 1951 until 1953. On July 8, 1955, Ruth and Wendell Lynn Livingston were united in marriage at Woodward, Oklahoma. A daughter, Nancy Ruth, and a son, Ernest Eugenee, were born to their happy union. Through the years, Wendell's work carried them to homes in West Virginia, Duncan and Cordell, Oklahoma, Garden City, Kansas and Russellville, Arkansas. They returned to Leedey to reside there during their retirement years. Ruth's employment included working as Deputy Dewey County Treasurer, a bank teller and a school disstrict teacher's aid while in Garden City. Ruth was a dedicated Christian and a member of the Church of Christ. She has been baptized as a child and her membership; was with the Leedey Church of Christ. Her Christian ministry included singing in nursing homs, teaching bible school and working with teenagers in bible study, an area in which she excelled and rejoiced. Other speecial interests were sewing, knitting and tatting. She also participated in Community Theater with a granddaughter for 10 years and assisted with over 10 plays and productions during that time. She was a member of Epsilon Sigma Alpha Sorority and a member of the international Barbershop; Harmony's Sweet Adeline Chorus. She was also an ESI Para Professional English Teacher while in Garden City and an active member of the PTA there. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, Wes and Ruth Altland, by a brother, Paul Altland and nephew, Wesley Paul Atland. She is survived by her beloved husband, Wendell, of the home in Leedey; by her daughter and son-in-law, Nancy Ruth and Michael Betzen and their four daughters, Cora, Abbie, Anna and Gretta; by her brother and sister-in-law, Ernest and Deborah Livingswton; by her brother and sister-in-law, Robert "Bob" and Polly Altland; by two nieces and two nephews and a niece from Mary and Paul's family Bill, John, Mike and Mary Marrgret. Also surviving are other dear relatives and many loving friends. Services were held Saturday, June 11, 2005 in the Church of Christ, Leeedey, Oklahoma with interment following in Elmwood Cemetery, Woodwarfd, Oklahoma. Services arranged by Shaw Funeral Home, Leedey, Oklahoma.
