Lewis, 67, passed away March 28, 1989 in Oklahoma City. Carl was born in Durham, Oklahoma, January 8, 1922. He moved to Oklahoma City in 1939. Carl retired as Supervisor from Tinker Air Force Base after 29 years of service. During World War II he served in the Army Air Corp 466th Bombardment Group with the 8th Air Force. He was staff sargeant. He received an Air Medal with 3 Oak Leaf Clusters and distinguished Flying Cross. Survivors include: his wife, Vesta; 5 daughters, Carroll Lewis, Beverly and Spence Lewis, Beth Lewis, Terrye and Richard Bryant, Vicki Corbin, all of Oklahoma City area; 1 sister, Dora Timmins, Mangum; 4 grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Services will be held Thursday, March 30, 1989 at 2 p.m. at the Apostolic Faith Tabernacle at 319 SW 79th, Oklahoma City, with E.T. and R.T. McDonald officiating. Burial will follow in the Rest Haven Cemetery, Oklahoma City, under the direction of Vondel Smith Mortuary. Cheyenne Star, Cheyenne, OK
