Lacey, whose maiden name was Stewart, was born in Missouri in 1932. She was married to Tom Williams first and after his death in 1957, she married Nathan H. Lacey in 1860. Her second husband died in 1883. Mrs. Lacey came from Boliver, Missouri, to Oklahoma in 1897 and took a claim to the Custer Bend neibhvorhood near Red Lake, where she lived a highly esteemed citizen and well beloved old lady, until her death, which occurred May 13, 1904. She was kind, loving mother, never too tired to do anything for her children. She was a good neibhvor and always ready to hlep the poor and needy in every way she could. Everybody who knew "Grandma Lacey" went to her for advice and help in thier troubles and she was uniformly ready to advise and assist. While she was not in her earlier years a religious woman, she felt the need of religion in her later years and diligently prayed for God's favor and blessing;p and in His infinite mercy. He heard her prayer and gave His peace even as she had given to the poor. Six children survived her, L.M. Williams and Mrs. E.L. Kepley who were children by her first husband and J.E. E--- and J.B. Lacey and Mrs. Alice Yost, children by her second husband. E.R. Lacey has since died and his last illness prevented an earlier attention to his mother's obituary.
