Leach, one of the pioneer citizens of Roger Mills county, passed away Sunday evening May 19, 1935 at 9: 25 at his home in this city, following an illness of only a few hours. Mr. Leach was in the home of Dr. C.E. Pyatt discussing with him the scout program for the evening when he was stricken with an acute heart attack from which he never regained consciousness. F.O. Leach was truly a pioneer having made the run into Roger Mills county and filing on a homestead on Dead Indian and had resided in this county continuously since 1892. F.O. Leach was up until the time of his death, one of our most useful citizens. F.O. Leach served Roger Mills county as Secretary of the Election Board for a quarter of a century. He was Justice of the Peace and equal number of years. He served the Cheyenne Masonic lodge as secretary for more than twenty years. Quite unassuming, fair minded, F.O. Leach was loved and respected by all. Loyal to his family, loyal to his church, the Episcopalian, to his fraternity, the Masonic Order, to his party, to his family and to his friends. F.O. Leach was born in Lancashire County England September 24, 1850. He was initiated into the Masonic Order in 1906. He was Past Master of the local lodge, Past Worthy Patron of the Eastern Star, Past District Deputy Grand Master of the district, D.D. G.H.P. of the Royal Arch, Past Com. Sayre Com. Knights Templar, Past H.P. Cheyenned Royal Arch Chapter and one of the oldest certificate lectures in the state. Funeral services were held Tuesdady afternoon in the Methodist Church of this city with the Rev . Casady of Clinton Episcopal church preaching the funeral cermony and W.H. Mouser of Cheyenne delivering the funeral address. The Eastern Star of Cheyenne held the ceremony of that Order. The Masonic Order of Cheyenne, assisted by masions of Elk City, Strong City and the Sayre Commandry of Knights Templars had charge of the burial. Interment was made in the Cheyenne Cemetery, Cheyenne, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma beneat a mound of flowers. Mr. Leach is mourned by his wife who had been his faithful companion for 35 years and his son Johnnie, about 14 years of age.
