She professed faith in Christ early in life and united with the Missionary Baptist church. She was a charter member of the Kiowa Baptist church. She was united in marriage with George Valentine Lacey September 6, 1875, near Bolivar, Missouri. They moved immediately to Tarrane County, Texas. Two years later they established a home in Brown county, Texas. In 1890 they moved to Greer County. Three years later they homesteaded a farm on Big Kiowa in Roger Mills County, where she remained until her passing. Her husband, a daughter, Lou, and a son, Samuel, preceded her in death. She is survived by three sons, Joshua and Ed of Collidge, Arizona, George H. of Hammon; two daughters, Mrs. W.A. Ford and May Lacey of Hammon; two brothers, George Stewart, Lawton, Marion Stewart of Rush Springs; two sisters, Mrs. Jennie Archer, and Mrs. Margaret Morrison, Marlow; Two grandsons, Frank and Frede Lacey who she reared, twenty other grandchildren and twenty two great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. R.L. Carter at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Kiowa church. Inerment was in Kiowa Cemetery, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma. The Wheeler Funeral Home of Clinton was in charge.
