LESLEY KILLS WIFE AND SELF Farmer Of Near Leedey killed His Wife In Rooming House In Elk City SHOT SELF IN TEMPLE WITH .32 W.B. Lesley, a well known farmer who resided near Leedey, shot to death his estranged wife in Elk City rooming house Wednesday morning. Lesley drove to Elk City from Leedey Wednesday and went to his wife's room and after a short conversation fired three shots into her body and ran down stairway and escaped in an automobile. Wednesday afternoon, Frank Clark, a farmer and two companions, came upon a parked car on a road seven miles northwest of Elk City and the body of W.B. Lesley with a bullet hole in the temple. A .32 calibre pistol was nearby and a note which reads follows: "Officers: This gun belongs to Paul Howard of Leedey. Please return it to him. Mrs. W.B. Lesley's vision of easy money faded today. Respt. W.. Lesley. Deliver my car to either of my sons, Chester or Lyle H. Lesley." Mr. and Mrs. Lesley had been married four years at the time of the tragedy. Mrs. Lesley had filed a suit of divorce in the Roger Mills county District Court. She had sued for division of property and alimony, which explains what Lesley meant when he wrote in thre death note: Mrs. W.B. Lesley's vision of easy money faded today.
