Smith Little Lucille F. Smith Little was born November 24, 1907 in a half-dugout northwest of Cheyenne, Oklahoma to Betty and Jim Smith. She passed away May 21, 2002 in the Cheyenne Care Center, Cheyenne, Oklahoma at the age of 94 years, 5 months and 27 days. Lucille attended school at Cheyenne before marrying John Wesley Little of Strong City, OK on December 19, 1926. They made their home in the Strong City Community where they farmed and ranched before moving to Cheyenne in 1972. Lucille was named "Moter of the Year" by the Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce in 1995. She was a member of Strong City Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one grandchild, Steven Elliott Little, two sisters and one brother. Services were held Friday, May 24, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. at Cheyenne First Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Fred King and Rev. Don Harrold. Burial was held at the Cheyenne Cemetery, Cheyenne, Roger Mills county, Oklahoma under the direction of Rose chapel funeral services. Survivors include: her sons and daughters-in-law, Murl and Marie Little of cheyenne, OK, Robert and Naida little of Thomas, OK, J.W. and Barbara little of Cheyenne, OK, Lloyd and Linda Little of Oklahoma City, OK; 14 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; two brothers, Richard Smith of Cheyenne, OK, Loyd Smith and wife Jeanine, of Oklahoma city, OK; one sister, Donna Parker of of Ponca City, OK; host of relatives and friends.
