Kenneth Phillips, Luther Laster and Charles Venezio officiating. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Hass- Ferguson Funeral Directors. He died Tuesday night, October 5, 1993. Mr. Laney was born in Reydon, Oklahoma, Roger Mills County. He married Doris Brown on September 19, 1941 in Pampa, Texas. He worked for the Santa Fe Railroad, farmed near Perico and retired from A.L.L. Agency Insurance of Austin, Texas. He moved to Dalhart, Texas in 1985. He was a student of Midway Schools. Survvivors include his wife: a son, Leon of Dalhart; 3 daughters, Alena Schwarz of Cheyenne, Oklahoma; Myrlene Frazier of Roswell, New Mexico; and Shirley Estes of Austin, Texas; 3 brothers, J.W. (Skinny) of Possum Kingdom; Dave (Chalk) of Houston, Texas; and Bill of Victoria, Texas; a sister, Debbie Rochester of Luling; a step-mother Leta Laney Harvath of Luling; 13 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.
