Glen Scott Lamb was born to Stanley and Betty Scott Lamb in La Puente, California on May 24th, 1960. He passed away October 15, 2002 at his parent's home, south of Sayre, Oklahoma at the age of 42 yeaars, 4 months and 21 days. He married Leslie Powers on March 21, 1981. From this union came three children, Jonathon Scott Lamb, Tara Dawn Lamb and Nicole Marie Lamb. He attended school in Santa Fe, N.M., Sayre, Erick, Mountain Park and Olustee, Oklahoma. He attended college at Southwestern Oklahoma State University, graduating with a Bachelors of Art degree in 1986. He began teachin in the Lawton Public Schools at Lawton High School in the Spring of 1987.. He quickley became known in Lawton for his unique ability to motivate students and help them to being out their best artistic ability. He moved to Altus in August of 1992. While there he worked in the Altus Middle School. Once again his unique style of teaching brought out the best in his students. The art program at the Altus Middle School quicklly became known for its quality, which showed itslef in his students artwork. In the Fall of 2000 Glen started the art program for the Sayre Public Schools. In two years Glens gift for teaching art to children once again inspired the very best to surface in them. Using a quotation from his first year evaluation as art teacher at Sayre, the educator evaluating him said, I would compare our art program to any in the nation. Your philosophy of learing about art rather than doing art makes our students able to perform with outstanding results. You are the key which helps unlock the hidden talents. He was selected to appear in the Whos Who in American Artists. To appeaar in this prestigious publication one has to be first nominated by a previous student. This is another indicator of the love he inspired in his students. Glen will be remembered for mny wonderful accomplishments. Perhaps the most important one is his sharing of his life and inspirational gift to better the lives of the young people he cheished working with. Another area of Glen life which reflected his faith in God and Gods work in his life was his association and support of Promise Keepers. He was instrumental in bringing Congressman J.C. Watts to a Promise Keepers meeting in Altus. To help faciliate the funding of this event he donated the proceeds from the sale of prints of The Crucifixion to Promise Keepers for their trip to Washington D.C. in the Million Man March. Glen also attended this event. Glens greatest joy in life was his three children. Jon, Tara and Nicole. He was always ready to tell any who would listen of their achievements and how proud he was of them. Of all of the things that Glen was proud of, and he had many, he was always proudest of his 3 children, Jonathon Lamb, Weatherford, Oklahoma; Tara Dawn Lamb, Altus, Oklahoma; Nicole Marie Lamb, Altus, Oklahoma; his parents, Stanley and Betty Lamb, Sayre, Oklahoma; 3 brothers, Joe Lynn Lamb, El Reno, Oklahoma; LaMar Lamb, Sayre, Oklahoma; Gregory Lamb, Lawton, Oklahoma; many aunts, uncles, cousins, and a host of relatives and friends.
