Interment followed in the Red Hill Cemetery, Hammon, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma under the direction of the Martin Funeral Home of Elk City. Doris Madeline Lamb was born April 29, 1929 at Elk City to Ben and Maude Arnett Cole and passed away Tuesday January 7, 2003 at the age of 73. She attended Hammon Schools and then graduated from Southwestern State College with her teaching degree. She was married to David Bruce Lamb on Septembe5r 1, 1946. They taught at Headrick until 1952 when they returned to Hammon where Doris taught English and Math where she retired in 1986. Mr. Lamb preceded her in death on October 15, 1998. Doris was a Grand Dame of the Daughtgers of American Revolution and a longtime member of the United Methodist Church of Hammon. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and a son, Bill Michael Lamb. Survivors include 2 sons; Joe Ben Lamb and his wife Elaine of Yukon, Oklahoma, Mark Lamb of Hammon, 6 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and two brothers, Ben Cole of Hammon and Bill Cole of Oklahoma City.
