The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. ====================================================================== Funeral rites for Mrs. Mary Long, will be held in the Martin Funeral Chapel Monday, February 25, 1984 at 2 p.m. Rev. John Bloss is to be the officiating minister. Burial will follow in the Fairlawn Cemetery, Elk City, Oklahoma. Mrs. Long was born in Bowie, Texas, August 2, 1883 and died in her daughter's home (Dr. Alice Long) Friday evening at the age of 91. She had been living in the home of her daughter for the past two years, where her son Marion and daughtger, Dr. Alice Long, had cared for her. She came to Oklahoma with her parents when she was three years of age in a covered wagon. Her father was the surveyor for the Elk City ares. She had lived here ever since. September 12, 1912 she was married to Dr. William Long at Doxey. He preceded her in death October 13, 1954. She was a member of the First Chirstian Church, the Eastern Star and Royal Neighbors. Survivors include two sons, Marion Long of Elk City and E.L. Long of Corpus Christi, Texas; one daughter, Dr. Alice Long of Elk City; five grandchildren and six great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Besides her husbznd, she was also preceded in death by two sons, Everett Leo and John William Long. She is the last of 13. Cheyenne Star, Cheyenne, OK 25-Feb-1984
