She passed away April 28, 2003 in the Roger Mills Memorial Hospital, Cheyenne, Oklahoma at the age of 75 years, 5 months and 21 days. Jeanne was born in Beckham County, Oklahoma grew up on the family farm in Crawford, Oklahoma. After spending much of her adult life in Texas and California. She returned to Roger Mills County where she was valued employee and Treasurer for the City of Cheyenne. She was preceeded in death by her parents, 1 brother, J.B. Powers, 2 sisters, Velma Walker and Maw Selby, and 1 granddaughter, Cody Lanie Montgomery. The family requests memorial donation be made to a favorite charity in Jeanne's name.\ A memorial services was held May 3, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. at the Cheyenne Church of Christ with Kendall Abner officiating. Jeanne's ashes will be taken to Colorado and spread at the base of Pike's Peak, as was her request. Survivors include: 2 daughters: Lomeda Montgomery of Wimberly, Texas, Denise Stauber of San Antonio, Texas; 5 grandchildren, Trace, Jennifer, Alyssa, Brent and Clint; 1 sister, Opal Stehenson; 3 brother and sisters-in-law, Delbert and Toots Powers of Cheyenne, Oklahoma, Jim and Loraine Powers of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Jack and Joanne Powers of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and many nieces, nephewsx, cousins and friends. She will be missed by all.
