Lancaster, 94, who died in Oklahoma City Tuesday, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday at the Dempsey school auditorium with the Rev. J.L. Davis, officiating. Mrs. Lancaster was one of the pioneers of western Oklahoma. She and her family moved to Roger Mills county in 1900 and homesteaded where Grimes, Oklahoma, now stands. They started the first post office and store at Grimesd and the first Sunday School was held in their home. She was a long-time member of the Methodist church. Survivors include six daughters, Mrs. Katherine Harz of Plano, Illinois, Mrs. Louise Wright, Litchfield, Neb., Mrs. Verdie Garrison of Elk City, Miss Salome Lancaster of Oklahoma City, Mrs. Leona Wilson, Stevens, Chino, Calif., Mrs. Ethelyn Sparks of Wilson, Oklahoma; three sons, Paul Lancaster of Low Point, Ill., French Lancaster of Grimes, Okla., Dewitt Lancaster of Bakersfield, Calif.; granddaughter, Mrs. Virgil Poore, Sayre. Burial will be in the Dempsey cemetey, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma with the Moore funeral home in charge of arrangements.
