James Garrison, assisted by Rev. Cleo Martin. Burial was in Red Hill Cemetery, with Martin-Hullum, Elk City, directing. Minnie Hodges was born October 9, 1878 in Stevens County, Texas; departed this life in Elk City October 17, 1953. On September 13, 1896 she was united in marriage to John . Noblitt at Wayland, Texas. They came to Oklahoma in 1907, where she ssince resided. Mr. Moblitt preceded her in death on November 5, 1931. She married J.W. Lawson July 10, 1935 at Cheyenne, Oklahoma. He passed away March 10, 1942. Mrs. Lawson was converted and joined the Methodist Church wwhen she was 17 years of age. She is survived by five sons, Willie T. and Utis T., Hammon, Oklahoma; Carl T., Leo Oran, and Leelon N., all of Brawley, Calif. Mrs. Lawson was preceded in deaath by a daughter and two sons; three grandchildren and one great grandchild. Other survivors include five sisters, Mrs. Louise Meadows, Roswell, N.; Mrs. Lila Ferguson, Commerce, Texas; Mrs. Algin Damron, Elk City, Oklahomaa; Mrs. Elizabeth Clark, Gage, Oklahoma; Mrs. Louis Smith; five brothers, Andrew Hodges, Knightslanding, Calif.; Buck Hodges, Lubbock, Texas; Adolph, Cleat and James Hodges; also 18 grandchildren and 17 great grandchilddren, who with other relatives and her many friends are made sad because of her passing.
