Long, pioneer farmer and stockman of Sweetwater, who died Tuesday February 28, 1950 at 3:00 p.m. following a long illness, will be held Thursday, March 2, 1950 at the Sunny Point community building at 2:00 p.m. with rev. R.K. Whitaker officiating. Mr. Long was born June 21, 1866 at Talking Ranch, Texas. He was married to Mattie Condry at Waldron, Akransas. Mr. and Mrs. Long moved to western Oklahoma in 1916 and settled near Sweetwater. He is a long time member of the Masonic Order of Erick. Survivors include his wife of the home address: one daughter Mrs. Clarise Flynn, Oklahoma City; two sons, Carl, Grimes, James, Pampa, Texas two brothers. W.A. Edmond, Oklahoma and J.A., Seymore, Texas; three sisters, Mrs. J.E. Prescott, Pampa, Texas, Mrs. L.D. Murphy, and Miss Hulena Long, Holland, Texas. Committal will be in Dempsey cemetery, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma with Scroggins Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. There are some corrections that need to be made in this. He was born in Talking Rock, GA not Texas. He was born in Talking Rock Georgia,Moved to Ok in 1906, Daughter Mrs Charles Flynn.
