Mabry, were conducted Thursday, Decmeber 27, 1962, 3:30 p.m. in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Mabry, who served twice as governor of New Mexico to cap a career of service as legislator, prosecutor, and judge died Sunday, December 23, 1962 in San Francisco, at the age of 78. He died in the Southern Pacific Hospital. The servicesx were held in the First Presbyterian Church, with Rev. Roy E. Howes officiating. Among dignitaries and other friends attending, there were those who knew Mabry as a University of New Mexico student, a young Clois publisher, and an Albuquerque attorney before he began his years in public office. In 1910 he was sent from Curry County, New Mexico, as the youngest member of the Constitutional Convention, which wrote the state's organic law. He later served as state senator, city commissioner, district attorney and district judge. He resigned as chief justice of the State Supreme Court to run for governor. Since the close of his second term as governor of New Mexico in 1950, Mabry has spent most of his time in San Francisco, where he served on a railway panel with the National Meditation Board. Besides his widow, the former Clara Berchtold of Santa Fe, the late governor is survived by two sons, Scott Mabry, Albuquerque; Thomas J. Mabry, Jr., Tucson, and a daughter, Kathryn Eagan, Santa Fe. Other survivors are three brothers, N.A. Mabry, Cunningham, Kentucky; Harry C. Mabry, Los Angeles, California, and Judge John N. Mabry, Trinidad, Colorado, and a sister, Mrs. E.B. Savage, Hammon. Ten grandchildren, and three great grandchildren survive. Mrs. Savage, Eugene Savage and son, Gene, Cheyenne, attended the services: Harry C. Mabry, John A. Mabry and son Dean, and Mrs. Frank Dalton, San Gabriel, California, daughter of N.A. Mabry, also attended. Cheyenne Star, Cheyenne, OkFuneral services for Dale "Pud" Mackey will be conducted Saturday at 10:30 a.m. from the Sayre Church of Christ with burial to follow in the Sayre-Doxey Cemetery, Sayre, Oklahoma under the direction of the Martin Funeral Home of Sayre.
