The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. ====================================================================== Martha Violet McKay was born to George and Luzetta Harrell, Mary 31, 1907, at Ioland, Ellis County, Oklahoma and passed from this life at her home in Leedey, Friday December 21, 1979 at the agoe fo 72. When thirteen years of age Dollie, as she was affectionately know, moved with her parents to Canadian Communith where she lived unil her marriage. She attended the rural schools near her home and later, Leedey High School. On May 23, 1929, at Arapaho, Oklahoma she was married to W.J. (Bill) MaKay. A son, Billy Ray and a daughter, Zula Margaret, were born to this union. Mr. and Mrs. McKay established their home in the Liberty Ceneter Community west of Leedey where they lived until 1959, when they moved to Leedey where she was living at the time of her death. Mrs. McKay attended the Leedey United Methodist Church, a concern and loving Christian. She was a loving devoted wife and mother, her home and family were precious to her and she spent her entire life doing for them those things which were estntial for love, happiness and togetherness in family living. She enjoyed sewing, handwork and cooking. Her every day tasks were a joy and she felt it a privlege to give of herself to her family and her many friends in so many ways. Mrs. McKay was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Harrell, one sister, Myrtle Harrel, and five brothers; Ray, Lance, George, Henry, and Jim Harrel. She is survived by her husband W.J. (Bill) McKay of the home in Leedey, one son, Billy Ray McKay of Guymon, Oklahoma; one daughter, Zula Margaaret Arney of Hereford, Texas, five grandchildren, Deborah Jean Long, Billy Dean McKay, James Leon Arney, Jr., Cheryl Laine Crim and David Lynn Arney, also two great grandchildren, James Leon Arney III, and Madi Laine Crims, two sisters, Hazel Lovett of Cheyenne, Oklahoma and Lily Harbour of Victoville, California, one brother, Hugh Harrel of Leedey, several nieces and nephews, other loved ones and many friends.
