The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. ====================================================================== Ruthie Passmore Mackey was born January 18, 1901 in Beckham County, Oklahoma Territory to Laura and Joe Carnahan and passed away November 29, 1996 in the Sayre Memorial Hospital at the age of 95 years, 10 months and 11 days. Ruthie lived in the New Liberty community where she attended school at New Hope and New Liberty. She married Henry W. Passmore March 3, 1919 and Henry passed away on June 3, 1934. Several years later she married Paul Mackey on April 10, 1949 in Elk City, Oklahoma and they made their home in Sayre where they built and owned the Sunset Motel and later the Western Motel. She was a member of the Sayre First Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, 2 sons and 1 great grandson. She is survived by 2 daughters, Alene Robertson, Sayre, Oklahom and Effie Ellen Hughes, Chiloquin, Oregon; 1 son, Bud Passmore, Sayre, Oklahoma; 2 step sons, Darrell Mackey and Ale "Pud" Mackey, both of Sayre, Oklahoma; 1 sister, Jewel Robertson, Sayre, Oklahoma and a host of gandchildren, great grandchildren, great greart grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. Services were at 10:30 a.m., Monday, December 2, 1996 at the Sayre First United Methodist Church officiated by Dr. Sheila Francis-Combs, and assited by Neil Mackey. Interment was in the Sayre-Doxey Cemetery, Sayre, Oklahoma under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service. Cheyenne Star, Cheyenne, OK
