The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. ====================================================================== Funeral services for former area minister Wilbur Dwain (Bill) Mease, 81, Yukon, were held Monday, March 29, 1999 at the First United Methodist Church in Yukon, with Don Nobles officiating. Rev. Mease died Friday, March 26, 1999, in Oklahoma City. He was born on January 28, 1918 in Morrill, Kansas, the son of J.B. and Beulah Reasy Mease. He attended school in Lincoln, Nebraska and graduated from Teachers College High School at the University of Nebraska. Welseyan for two years and graduated from McPherson College in McPherson, Kansas. He also attended Bethany Seminary in Chicago, Illinois and Perkins School of Theology in Dallas, Texas. He worked for a time as a paper boy and in the press room of the Lincoln Journal Star. On May 8, 1848 he was married to Mildred Cartner. She died in September of 1964, he later married Edna Whiteneck in Clinton. She preceded him in death on January 8, 1999. He also was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Gerald Mease. Rev. Mease pastored churches in Cordell, Aline, Ringwood-Ames, Billings- Marland, Taloga-Lenora, Arapaho-Chapel Hill, Dill City, Hammon-Butler, Bethal-Bridgeport, Blair-Marth, Eldorado, Granite-Willow-Carter and Cloud Chief. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Yukon, he had been a member of the Boy Scouts of America since 1930, the Rotary Club, the Lions Club and the Kiwanis Club. He was also and International Woodcarver. Burial was in the Galena Cemetery. Survivors include a daughter, Shari Pryon and her husband, Max, of Marlow; a son, John Mease and his wife, Sheryl, of Mustang; four grandchildren; two sisters, Beverly Petri of Lincoln, Nebraska, Joan Brumbaugh of Council Bluffs, Iowas; and several nieces and nephews.
