McCoy, Jr was born October 13, 1930 in Allison, Texas to Daisy and Earl McCoy. He passed away January 31, 2004 at his home south of Reydon, Oklahoma at the age of 73 years, 3 monthds and 16 days. C.E. began school in Allison and then attended Midway until it was consolidated with Reydon School. He later helped his father with the farm and on October 15, 1950, he was married to Jewel Dean Cline at Sweetwater, Oklahoma. They lived in Dempsey before moving to Dalhart, Texas. He entered the U.S. Army in 1952 and served his country during the Korean Conflict. After his discharge, he returned to Dalhart, in August 1964 he graduated as a licensed Colonel from Auctioneer School and later that year they returned to Oklahoma to live on the Cline homeplace south of Reydon, where they have resided since. C.E. enjoyed helping his community and volunteered his auctioneering services for the locall schools and also volunteered as the aannouncer for many rodeos and playdays. He started the Reydon Rangers, making numerous trail rides where he preferred driving the last wagon and team to watch over the children who came along. He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 sisters, Modeena Cummings, Edna Hemminger, Elise Banks and 2 brothers, Jimmy McCoy and Donald Ray McCoy. Services were held Tuesday 3, 2004 at 1:30 p.m. at Reydon First Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Alberta Helton and Larry Mowry. Burial was held at White Rose Cemetery, Reydon, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service. Survivors include his wife Jewel Dean of the home; 1 daughter Charla Kaye Cooprider and husband, Ronnie of Sayre, Oklahoma; 1 son Dennis Earl McCoy and wife, Michelle of Reydon, Oklahoma; 4 grandchildren Darla and Brent Rogers of Elk City, Oklahoma, Wesley and Junita Powers, Reydon, Oklahoma, Monica Bentley of Sayre, Oklahoma, Kattie McCoy of Reydon, Oklahoma; 2 great grandchildren Cooper and Casen Rogers of Elk City, Oklahoma; 1 brother Loyd Wayne McCoy and wife Pat of Lindsay, Oklahoma, 1 sister-in- law Sis McCoy of Reydon, Oklahoma; and a host of special nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
