McKay, a pioneer of the Liberty Center community, died August 7, 1945 at his home at Leedey, Oklahoma, of a heart attack. He was 75 years of age. Mr. McKay was a Gold Star father of World War I, father of Willis Stone McKay, who was killed in action in that war. He was also a Gold Star Grandfather of World War II, being grandfather of Celo Harrel, who died from wounds received on Leyte. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Martha McKay of Leedey, three sons, Grover McKay of Long Beach, California, Floyd McKay, also of Long Beach, and George McKay jr., of Hawthorne, California. Five daughters survive who are Mes. Alex Patton of Leedey, Oklahoma, Mrs. Addie McNish of Cincinnati, Ohio, Mrs. Nena Leslie, Mrs. Gladys Harrel and Mrs. Marsha Patton of the home addrerss. Also 15 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted at Liberty Center with Rev. W.R. Trent delivering the sermon. All children were present at the funeral except Mrs. McNish. His granddaughter, Mrs. Crawford Imhoff, is employed in the Agriculture Adjustment Administration in Cheyenne. Their many friends extend to the bereaved, their heartfelt sympathy.
