McCaskill Edward A. McCaskill, age 100, Roger Mills County pioneer, Cheyenne died Wednesday March 10, 1965 at the Cheyenne hosptial following a short illness. Funeral services were held Friday at 230 p.m. in the Cheyenne Baptist Church with Rev. Herman Ledford officiating. Born May 19, 1864 in Tennesse Mr. McCaskill was married to Julia H. Balch in Mississippi. They came to Crodell and stayed two years, then homesteaded near Cheyenne in 1902. He was a member of the Baptist Church. Survivors are five daughters, Mrs. Mary Shirley, Oklahoma City, Mrs. Minnie Harrison, Sayre, Mrs. Viola Pearl, Fresno, California, Mrs. Etta Gray, Modesto, California, Mrs. Myrtle Porterfireld, Oklahoma City, one son, Lawrence of Cheyenne; 24 grandchildren, a number of great grandchildren, and several great great grandchildren. Committal was in the Cheyenne cemetery, Cheyenne, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma with Scroggins and Son Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Cheyenne Star, Cheyenne, Ok
