The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net/ *********************************************************************** Obit for Mrs. Vina McDaniel Services for Mrs. Vina McDaniel were conducted in the Baptist church in Cheyenne last Sunday afternoon in the presence of a large crowd of relatives and friends who came to pay their respect to a former resident of this city. Rev. Laddie Adams, pastor of the church preached the sermong. Committal was in the Cheyenne cemetery, Cheyenne, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma. Mrs. McDaniel and her husband Riley McDaniel lived in and near Cheyenne until a few years after his death. During this time they were engaged in the cafe and in the grocery business in this city. Mrs. McDaniel was an active worker for her church, teaching a class in Sunday school as long as she was able to do so. Friends remember that it was her Sunday morning custom to go to the homes of the children of her Sunday school class, and bring them to Sunday school. If, perchance, ther were any whose parents were unable to clothe them, Vina saw that they had clothes, too. Her life was a testimony to the faith she believed and lived. Survivors include her son, Eddie Lee McDaniel, Cheyenne, two daughters, Mrs. Ernest Taylor, Viola, of Lefors, Texas, and Mrs. Gerald Glenn, Maxine, of Compton, California; her father G.C. Kirby of Junction City, Kansas, a brother and several sisters, 14 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Her brother, Elton Kirby and family and her twin sister, Viola Leary were present for the funeral services. Mrs. McDaniel passed away in Junction City, Kansas, where she had resided for the past few years, Thursday, November 20, 1958. She was born April 19, 1891. Cheyenne Star, Cheyenne, Ok
