The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. ====================================================================== Jesse David McClellan of 2864 Unaweep Ave, died at 4:45 p.m. July 24, 1985 at Plateau Valley Hospital. He was taken ill during a fishing trip on Grand Mesa. He was 76. Mr. McClellan spent most of his life farming. He also worked for the Bureau of Land Managemtn and later was head custodian at the former United States Bank, now Intra West Bank. He had lived in Grand Junction for 27 years. He was born January 4, 1909 at Strong City, Oklahoma. He spent his childhood and was educated in Oklahoma. He moved to Panoia in 1947 and also lived in Sunnyside, Utah for eight years. He enjoyed his family, fishing, gardening and hunting. He was a member of the First Assembly of God Church. Mr. McClellan was married November 25, 1933 to Mary Iona Rogers in Arnett, Oklahoma. She survives. Other survivors include two daughters, JoAnna Ooley of Rifle and Vona L. Burch of Lake Havasu, Arizona; a brother, Lafayette McClellan of Strong City; a sister, Alice Welty of Leedey, Oklahoma and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, Jesse Neil McClellan. Services were arranged by Martin's Mortuary with the Rev. Robert J. Strand officiating. Burial followed in the Memorial Gardens.
