Memorial services were Tuesday, April 3, 1979 at 1 p.m. in the Waverly Chapel in Santa Anna, California, with burial in the Fairhaven Memorial Park. She was born June 5, 1892 in Texas and at the age of four she moved to Roger Mills County with her parents. Bessie May West married Newt Edwin McClain in 1915 and he preceded her in death in 1972. After their marriage they lived near Elk City and Sayre before moving to California in 1922. In 1973 she moved back to Sayre. She was a buyer for the Rankin and Company for a number of years. She is a member of the First Chirstian Church. Survivors are a brother, Willie West of Sayre; a sister, Nannie Carr of Sayre. Cheyenne Star, Cheyenne, OK
