McCamon was born November 27, 1920 in Sayre, Oklahoma to Merle Elizabeth and Edger McCamon and passed away January 16, 1995 in the Great Plains Regional Medical Center at the age of 74 years, 1 month and 19 days. Alonzo attended school at Berlin before entering the U.S. Army on February 22, 1943. During World War II, he served in Europe with 552nd D Anti- Aircraft Baattalion. He was discharge October 31, 1945 and returned to western Oklahoma, living in Sayre until 1955 when he moved to Kimball, Nebraska. In 1964, he came back to Sayre where he remained until 1976 when he moved to Elk City to make his home. He attended the Assembly of God Church. He was preceded in death by his father, 1 daughtger (Karen Peninger), 2 brothers, (Dale Ray McCamon and Mevlin McCamon) and 1 sister (Eula Martin). He is survived by two daughters, Jan and Dennis Chamdler, Yukon, Oklahoma and Kimberly Ann and Scott Weaver of Raeford, Missouri; mother, Merle McCamon, Elk City, Oklahoma; 4 sisters, Anna Lee Kirk, Texhoma, Oklahoma, Helen Cannon, Cheyenne, Oklahoma, Ruth Montgomery, Las Cruces, New Mexico and Sue Weaver, Holcomb, Kansas; 2 brothers, Glen McCamon, Elk City, Oklahoma and Bill McCamon, Amarillo, Texas; 7 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren; dearest friend, Dorothy Combs, Elk City, Oklahoma; many nieces and nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
