James Medlock was conducted Monday at 10:30 a.m. from the First Baptist Church of Hammon with Rev. Loyd Hall officiating. Burial followed in the Fairlawn Cemetery in Elk City, Oklahoma under the direction of the Martin Funeral Home. James Thomas Medlock was born April 4, 1936 in Jenks to Floyd and Cora Young Medlock and died late Thursday at the age of 60. he moved with his family to Arizona when he was a boy. James served his country in the U.S. Army from 1954 thru 1957 in Korea and Germany. he was married to Donna Haney on December 21, 1957 in Collidge, Arizona. They established their first home in Collidge. Rev. Medlock surrendered his life to the Lord at the age of 21 and four monts later he was ordanied as a Baptist Minister. He served many churches in the central and southwest parts of the US and also served locally at Dill City, Erick, Butler and currently as the Pastor of the First Baptist Church of Hammon. Survivors include his wife, Donna Medlock of Hammon; four sons, James Roy Medlock and his wife Jean Marie of Amarillo, Jeffrey Ross Medlock and his wife Brenda Ann of Cordell, Jonathon Reese Medlock of Amarillo, Texas, Jason Richard Medlock of Hammon and a foster son, Adam Wade Jolly and his wife Carol of Florida; eight grandchildren; two brothers, Frank Medlock of San Diego, California, Christopher Medlock of Collidge, Arizona; three sisters, Grace Bridschge of Collidge, Arizona, Wanda Sue Pierce of Clyde, Texas and Helen Rollins of Abilene, Texas.
