She passed away April 23, 2003 in the Roger Mills Memorial Hospital, Cheyenne, Oklahoma at the age of 85 years, 7 months and 8 days. Hazel moved with her parents to Roger Mills County where she attended school at Cheyenne. She was married to Lowell Dwight Malson at Reydon, Oklahoma on November 24, 1935. They lived in the Crawford Community before moving to Leedey in 1942. They moved to Durham in 1947 where they farmed before moving to Roll in 1989. Hazel moved to Cheyenne in November 1997 to make her home. She was a member of the Crawford Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 3 brothers, and 3 sisters. Services were held Saturday April 26, 2003 at 10:00 AM at Cheyenne Church of Christ, officiated by Kendall Abner with Bob O'Hair assisting with the eulogy. Burial was held at the Silent Home Cemetery under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service, Cheyenne. Survivors include: 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Darla and Don O'Hair of Duncan, Oklahoma, loree and Melvin Summers of Cheyenne, Oklahoma; 1 son and daughter-in-law, Leon and Janet Malson of Crawford, klahoma; 2 sisters, Lois Thomas of Cheyenne, Oklahoma, Gerri Saiz of Cheyenne, Oklahoma; one brother, Tom Riley of Amarillo, Texas; 10 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; host of other relatives and friends.
