Esther departed this life on May 27, 2000 at the Roger Mills Hospital, Cheyenne, Oklahoma. The Goin family moved to Roger Mills County near Roll, where her father was a minister for the Primitive Baptist Church. Esther spent most of her childhood growing up around the Roll Community and attended Clear Springs School. On March 11, 1917 she married Gilbert Miller and together they farmed for many years in Roll, Merritt and Muleshoe, Texas. In 1938 they moved to Portales, New Mexico to make their home. In Portales they farmed, managed several cafes, and in the fifty's built homes. Esther helped Gilbert build homes and worked in several restaurants. Esther was always helping out her brothers and sister with their families--the nieces and nephews became her children. In the sixties she worked in Mattie's Cafe in Portales to keep herself busy. After Gilbert's death in 1970, she moved to Guthrie, Oklahoma. Esther then provided care for her brother, Bennie Goin, until his death. In 1981, she moved to Cheyenne, Oklahoma to be near her sister, Mary Springer. Esther always enjoyed helping her family and friends. During her lifetime, she provided care for a host of loved ones. An important part of her life was attending the Primitive Baptist Church and studying her Bible. Esther's healt began to fail in 1994. At this time she moved to the Cheyenne Care Center in Cheyenne, Oklahoma, where she lived until her death. Esther is survived by one sister, Mary Springer of Cheyenne, Oklahoma and a host of nieces and nephews. Cheyenne Star, Cheyenne, OK
