Mr. Means had been to Cheyenne that afternoon and was apparently as well as he had been for some time. He had eaten supper and was conversing with a man employed on the farm when he succumbed instantly. The shock was indeed great to his family and many friends who could scarcly realize that the end had come. Mr. Means had resided at his present home for many years and was well known. His home was situated such that travelers in an earlier day found it convenient as a stopping place and all enjoyed the genial hospitality extended them Mr. Means represented the sturdy type of man. He possessed a frank, open character and was always on the side of right. While a small boy he united with the Methodist church and had been a member of the Methodist church of this city for many years. He had also been a member of the Odd Fellows lodge for many years. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Methodist church in Cheyenne in the presence of a crowd so large that the spacious auditorium of that church could not accommodate the crowd. The funeral sermon was preached by Rev. Rhoads, local pastor, after which the Odd Fellows of Cheyenne conducted their funeral rites. Burial in Cheyenne Cemetery, Cheyenne, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma. Mr. Means was about 57 years of age. He leaves a wife and one son, Jimmie, besides other relatives. The entire community relizes the loss of a valuable ciitzen .
