Memorial Services were at 10:00 a.m. Saturday in the Camichael-Whatley Funedral director Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Rich Parnell, pastor of the Central Baptist Church officiating. Burial was in the Fairview Cemetery, Pampa, Texas. Skip was born in Roger Mills County, Oklahoma on January 1, 1917. He grew up on a farm near Reydon, Oklahoma. He attended school at Midway, Oklahoma like his older brothers, Lindsey and Charley. He developed a great love for horses. e raised many good, outstanding horses. But the one he lovedd the most was the Famous "Midnight Junior", who went down in Quarter Horse history as one of the Greatest ever. Skip worked on several ranches as a Cowboy. He was also a Jockey, who won many horse races. Skip was married to Estelle Evans on May 5, 1942. To this union, one daughter, Vicky Lynn was born. He was a member of Central Baptist Church. He was Road Forman for Gray County for 29 years. He is survived by his wife Estelle; a daughter Vicky Lynn and husband Marble Falls, Texas; three sisters, Lellia Garver of Reydon, Oklahoma, Betty Hanawalt of Cheyenne, Oklahoma, Margruierte Clement of Mangum, Oklahoma; two brothers, Billy Mongtomery of Pryor, Oklahoma, and Bobby Montgomery of Sinett, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Allen and Annie Montgomery; three sisters, Viola Bohannon, Velma Leetz and Dorothy Riemer; three brothers, Lindsey, Charley and Pat (R.L.) Montgomery. He also leaves a host of relatives and friednds to mourn his passing.
