At an early age she moved with the family to Velma, Oklahoma, which was then the Indian Territory. In 1900 they moved to Texmo where she met and married J.S. Moore in 1902. To this union six children were born, one of whom died in infancy. In this same community, which is now Moorewood, they resided on their homestead until 1944, when her health made it necessary for them to leave. In 1946 they established a home in Elk City, where they were residing at the time of her death. Mrs. Moore was converted at an ealy age, and joined the Moorewood Baptist Church in 1902, where her membership remained until her death. She is survived by her husband, Everett Moore, Moorewood; four daughters, Mrs. Gertha Thomas, Delta, Colorado, Mrs. Fannie Griffittz, Wichita Falls, Texas, Mrs. Velma Russell, Huntington Park, California, and Mrs. Jessie Buth, Tucumcari, New Mexico, and nine grandchildren. Also surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Martha Chambers, Sayre, Oklahoma, Mrs. Dollie Moore, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Mrs. Verdie Bailey, Portersville, California and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services were conducted Monday, July 17, 1950 at the Moorewood Baptist Church with Rev. Joe Clark in charge assisted by Rev. L.H. Patterson . Interment was in the Moorewood cemetery.
