Pat) Murphy was born January 14, 1915 in Western Oklahoma and passed away March 30, 1997. He graduated from Cheyenne High School. He served his country proudly at a 1st Lt in the Army Air Forces as a bombardier during World War II. He briefly attended University of Oklahoma prior to a life long career with the Federal Goverment. He worked as a Correctional Officer until his retirement in 1974 at which time he received his Real Estate License. He was a life long member of the Knights of Columbus. He is survived by his daughters, Yvonne Hodges of Rockwell, Texas, Gina Blair of Lancaster, Texas and Madalyn Hardgrave of Corsicana, Texas; sons, Pat Murphy of Dallas, Texas, and Dennis Murphy of Waco, Texas, stepson, Arthur Lofton of New Mexico; his sisters, Gladys Keel of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; and Hazel Mae Ruddy of New Jersey; an aunt, Mable Eckroat of Oklahoma City; thirteen grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held in Dallas, April 2, 1997 and interment at Calvary Hill Cemetery. Rev. James R. Sharp officiated. Cheyenne Star, Cheyenne, OK
