She passed away December 17, 2005 at Sayre, Oklahoma at the age of 90 years, 6 months and 8 days. Tien was raised on the Davis ranch north of Texola where she attended school. She was married to Walter Franklin Merrick at Erick, Oklahoma on October 6, 1930. They lived on the Davis ranch before moving and living on ranches near Rush Creek, east of Reydon, Arnett and Crawford. In 1967 they moved to Quannah, Texas and then to Sayre to make their home. She was a member of the Trinity Fellowship. Shed was preceded in death by her parents, 1 son, Jimmie Merrick, 1 grandson, Kash Merrick, and 5 sisters. Survivors include her husband Walter Merrick, of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Lynnie and Buddy Suthers, Sayre, Oklahoma, Dona and Bob Moss, Cheyenne, Oklahoma; one son and daughter-in-law, Joe and Sherry Merricfk, Sayre, Oklahoma; 15 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. Services were held December 21, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at Trinity Fellowship officiated by Andy Taylor and Dary Perry. Burial was at Cheyenne Cemetery, Cheyenne, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service, Sayre.
